Dighalipukhuri

The iconic Dighalipukhuri located in Ambari at the heart of Guwahati city is one among the prominent places to visit in Guwahati. The man-made lake is believed to be created by King Bhagadutta of Pragjyotishpura by digging a canal from the Brahmaputra River. However, it access to the Brahmaputra River was eventually closed and the end of the Dighalipukhuri was filled up, on which there is Circuit House and Gauhati High Court.

Evenings at Dighalipukhuri are charming. The serene atmosphere, with the lush greenery around and gentle ripples on the water creates an inviting escape. The adjoining park adds a lively touch, offering children a place to play while families enjoy moments of leisure.
