Aswaklanta Temple

Located in North Guwahati, the Aswaklanta Temple was built during the reign of Ahom King Swargadeo Siva Singha. According to legend, the temple got its name because Lord Krishna’s horse grew tired here while he was on his way to defeat Narkasura. Inside the temple, you can see the idols of Janardana and Anantasai Vishnu— the latter being a beautiful example of 11th-century art.
