Hayagriva Madhava Temple

Hayagriva Madhava Temple, located 28 kilometres west of Guwahati, is a blend of both Hindu and Buddhist style of architecture. The temple sits atop Monikut hill. The temple was constructed by the King Raghu deva Narayan in 1583. The temple is one such place where you can witness the confluence of different religions that attracts people from far flung places. Doul Utsav is celebrated on a grand scale in the adjacent temple called Doul Griha. Bihu and Janmashtami are also celebrated every year in the Hayagriva Madhava temple.
