Baladev Pukhuri is a registered government fishing zone and scenic pond in Darrang district of Assam. The place it is located at is known as Baldevpara on the west of Sipajharat. It is spread over an area of 15 acre and is one of the oldest ponds in Assam. It was built during the reign of King Bali Narayan, also Dharma Narayan, who fought against the Mughal along the Ahoms. Baladev Pukhuri is now a part of government fishery project and also a haven for bird watchers. There is a lot to see and explore here apart from just this pond. Hatisila is a famous picnic spot on the sandy beaches of River Brahmaputra. The Hatisila temple is also quite famous.
